Do you have to be a Mom to work for Civicom?

No. We enjoy working with anyone who meets the job requirements. If you are not a Mom, but think you would be a great fit for the job, we want to hear from you!

What is the Non Disclosure Agreement?

We require all of our applicants and transcriptionists to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Because of the nature of the business, it is important that we keep our client's confidentiality a top priority.

What are the types of files I'll be working on?

We offer transcription solutions to a number of clients in different fields of expertise. Although we specialize in non-medical transcriptions, we do have files from different industries such as Information Technology, Business/Financial, Legal, and Science/Biotech.

What are the length of files I'll be receiving?

During the course, you will be receiving files of different lengths. As a beginner, you will be given assignments not more than 30 minutes in length. This will eventually increase the more you work for us. The maximum length of files we give a transcriber is an hour's worth of audio.

What do I need to be a good transcriber?

To be a good transcriber, you need to have a very strong comprehension of the English language, excellent listening skills, and can navigate your way through some accented speakers. You should also be tenacious when researching for terms. You will also need a reliable computer, reliable internet connection, and a very good pair of earphones.

What is the turn-around time for my assignment?

Turn-around time for assignments varies by project — from two day, one day, or even just a couple of hours. This will of course depend on your availability. You may always contact our CiviMom coordinator if the project does not fit with your schedule.

What is client ready?

We expect that all our eagle transcriptionists deliver accurate files in a timely manner. This means that the files are ready to go to the client at the time of submission without having an editor go through the document. Our goal is to have your files go directly to the end client!

How will my work be graded/scored?

Your performance will be evaluated based on the quality of documents you submit. Each document submitted is graded based on several factors such as ability to meet deadlines, adherence to our guidelines, and overall quality of your work.

What is the difference between non-eagle and eagle?

Only eagle transcriptionists are eligible for the perks and benefits. To be an eagle transcriber, you must be able to available to transcribe for at least 20 days per month and to deliver client ready documents. All non-eagle transcriptionists are not eligible to the following:

  • Guaranteed pay of $250 USD each month
  • Opportunity to earn $700+ USD each month
  • Health insurance coverage

When and How will I get paid?

Salaries are given out every 5th of the month and is automatically deposited to a bank account of your choosing.
